Eleven Patient Research Partners (PRPs) from three organizations (EULAR, GRAPPA-EU, and EUROPSO) participate in the new research project HIPPOCRATES, ensuring the patients' perspective is preserved and prioritized in all research activities to maximize the project's impact.
A new study from the University of Helsinki shows that babies that are breastfed for at least six months have less antibiotic-resistant bacteria in their gut compared with infants breastfed for a shorter time. In addition, antibiotic use by mothers increases the number of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in infants.
Healthcare workers on intensive care units are regularly missing opportunities to clean their hands during the care of patients, despite its critical importance for infection control, according to new research being presented at this year's European Congress of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases in Amsterdam, Netherlands (13-16 April).
