Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said this afternoon that he supports a public plan with a provision that would allow states to "opt-out." Reid's announcement represents a major reversal from his previous hesitation about this mechanism and ensures that some form of a public option will be included in health-care legislation headed to the Senate floor. Recent debate has focused on the best way to devise the approach and which lawmakers might support it.
Part of the previously planned $7.5 billion U.S. aid package for Pakistan will be redirected to flood rebuilding projects, said USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah, the Associated Press reports. Shah also "warned that other nations would only contribute money if Islamabad could ensure it would be well spent."
In an important study forthcoming in the March 2006 issue of the American Naturalist, biologists from Yale University, University of Florida, and Dartmouth University explore the dynamics of pathogen survival and shed new light on a longstanding mystery
Dr Rotstein received his Ph.D at Karolinska Institutet and has worked as an oncologist for almost 40 years. He was previously Head of Department at the Oncology Clinic at Danderyd Hospital where he together with his colleagues built and managed a highly-appreciated breast cancer clinic.
