Microsulis reports that the groundbreaking Accu2i pMTA system for destroying unwanted tissue and used in the treatment of liver and other cancers now carries an impressive range of electrical safety standards. The Accu2i is CE-marked and carries FDA 510(k) clearance and so is cleared for electrical safety and performance with the internationally recognised standard IEC 60601-1 for electrical safety.
Today, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Margaret A. Hamburg announced the agency has approved or tentatively approved a total of 152 antiretroviral drugs in association with the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) to treat those infected with HIV/AIDS in countries that lack the tools needed to fight the AIDS epidemic.
Johns Hopkins researchers report potentially life-threatening hospital infections with bacteria resistant to the antibiotic methicillin can occur even if patients havent been treated with that drug.
An experimental drug in early development for aggressive brain tumors can cross the blood-brain tumor barrier and kill tumor cells and block the growth of tumor blood vessels, according to a study led by researchers at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - Arthur G.
