In a post in KPLU's "Humanosphere" blog, journalist Tom Paulson discusses the role of faith-based organizations in the response to HVI/AIDS, writing, "PEPFAR is mentioned in perhaps every other speech here at the International AIDS Conference, AIDS 2012, as one of those game-changers. Infrequently, some folks also mention, usually just in passing, something like the 'contributions of the faith-based community.'
Phytel, the industry leader in automated, physician-led health improvement, announced today that the Mankato Clinic, one of the largest physician-owned multispecialty groups in Minnesota, has agreed to deploy its Proactive Patient Outreach solution. The nearly century-old Mankato Clinic, which includes 110 providers in nine locations, selected Phytel to help reduce its no-show rate and to increase the provision of needed services to its patients.
Under the agreement, Dowpharma's proprietary MeO-DOTA bifunctional chelant technology will be used to radiolabel Cytogen's prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) antibody with a therapeutic radionuclide. PSMA is a protein highly expressed on the surface of prostate cancer cells and the neovasculature of many solid tumors.
University of Otago researchers have discovered that high-intensity exercise can reduce or reverse the loss in heart function caused by type 2 diabetes.
