How much a child's pupil dilates in response to seeing an emotional image can predict his or her risk of depression over the next two years, according to new research from Binghamton University.
A balance between the activation of the inflammatory macrophages and suppression of the anti-inflammatory macrophages in the kidney may play a pivotal role in kidney stone formation. These macrophage-derived mediators may have potential as biomarkers to reflect the urinary stone risk, according to a new study from Japan, which was recently presented at the recent 2nd Meeting of the EAU Section of Urolithiasis and received Clinical Research Award.
On Sunday, April 28, a team of researchers received the 2019 Human Growth Award at the Pediatric Endocrine Society's Annual Meeting for their abstract, entitled "Clinical Characterization and Trial of Growth Hormone in Patients with Aggrecan Deficiency: 6 Month Data," and presented this at the PES Presidential Poster Session.
Taking music lessons increases brain fiber connections in children and may be useful in treating autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), according to a study being presented next week at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
