Sickle cell disease (SCD) is so called because of the abnormal sickle shape of the red blood cells in individuals with this blood disorder.
Synta Pharmaceuticals Corp. today announced that clinical activity seen in the first stage of its trial for STA-9090 in Stage IIIB and Stage IV patients with non-small cell lung cancer, support advancing to the second stage of the trial. This result was achieved in the first pre-defined patient cohort to complete enrollment.
The report by the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA) says that the only way to effectively address the priorities of chronic disease prevention, climate change and social inequality is by a complete overhaul of food policy in Australia.
Although she became infertile as a result of the chemotherapy, re-implantation of her ovarian tissue re-started ovulation 5 months later; she became pregnant 11 months after re-transplantation by natural fertilization. Details of the procedure appear in a research article published online by THE LANCET.
