Nymox Pharmaceutical Corporation provided an update today on the Company's Phase 3 program for NX-1207, Nymox's investigational drug for benign prostatic hyperplasia. The most recent Safety Monitoring Committee meeting of April 30, 2010 for the Phase 3 U.S. pivotal trials of NX-1207 indicated no significant safety concerns for the trials to date.
A research team from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, examining bacterial isolates obtained in hospital and non-hospital clinical settings between 2000 and 2006, has identified drug-resistant strains of E. coli and Klebsiella bacteria in more than 50 blood, urine and respiratory samples.
Various research groups are collecting different types of cells and turning them into induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells that can then generate diverse types of cells and tissues in the body. Now investigators have transplanted kidney tissue made from human iPS cells into a mouse kidney, and they found that the animal's blood vessels readily connect to the human tissue.
