According to a new study, severe infections during adolescence may lead to an increased risk of contracting MS later in life. "We're talking mainly about brain and spinal cord infections, but also respiratory tract infections," says Scott Montgomery, professor at örebro University.
Researchers from Aarhus University Hospital and Aarhus University in Denmark in collaboration with researchers from Colorado in the United States have found a new way to treat the inflammation involved in chronic diseases such as psoriasis, asthma and HIV.
It is often suggested that the results of clinical trials are affected by the fact that the patients who volunteer for a trial are more likely to take their medication effectively than those in standard care. This supposition is, however, strongly refuted in the results of a new study revealed at the British Pharmaceutical Conference in Manchester.
