Researchers at McMaster University have developed a new drug screening technique that could lead to the rapid and accurate identification of fentanyl, as well as a vast number of other drugs of abuse, which up until now have been difficult to detect by traditional urine tests.
Every year, 2 million patients in Poland are treated with blood and blood products. But only blood compatible with the recipient's blood type can be safely transfused.
New treatments have extended the lives of many lung cancer patients. However, even better than treating lung cancer would be preventing it from developing in the first place.
Long-term use of highly active antiretroviral therapies does not appear to be associated with impaired heart function in children and adolescents in a study that sought to determine the cardiac effects of prolonged exposure to HAART on children infected with the human immunodeficiency virus, according to a report published Online First by JAMA Pediatrics, a JAMA Network publication.
