The International Rett Syndrome Foundation (IRSF), the world's largest and most comprehensive not-for-profit organization that funds novel research for treatments and a cure for Rett syndrome, has announced that Steven G. Kaminsky, Ph.D., received two incredibly prestigious awards at the 2013 Annual Family Conference in Midway, Utah this past June.
Bayer CropScience today announced an investment of $25 million for further enhancing operational safety at its Institute, W.Va. site. As part of these plans, the company will reduce methyl isocyanate (MIC) storage by 80 percent.
At a general employee meeting Friday morning at Lanterman Developmental Center in Pomona, state Department of Developmental Services representatives officially announced plans to close the state center that provides care for hundreds of Californians with developmental disabilities.
Abuse during childhood is different. A study of adult civilians with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) has shown that individuals with a history of childhood abuse have distinct, profound changes in gene activity patterns, compared to adults with PTSD but without a history of child abuse.
