The craving chocoholics have for chocolate is according to new research the result of metabolic programming.
MyoKardia, Inc., a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company pioneering a precision medicine approach for the treatment of heritable cardiovascular diseases, today announced the publication of an article in the leading medical journal Science.
Having recently discovered a set of powerful gene regulators that control cell identity in a few mouse and human cell types, Whitehead Institute scientists are now showing that these regulators-which they named "super-enhancers"-act across a vast array of human cell types and are enriched in mutated regions of the genome that are closely associated with a broad spectrum of diseases.
According to a study in the February 23 issue of JAMA. Nearly 10 percent of patients screened at a general medicine clinic in an urban area were found to have a history of bipolar disorder.
A team of scientists from Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University together with their colleagues from leading scientific centers of Moscow and India described a number of genetic mutations causing Usher syndrome (inherited deaf-blindness).
