Loyola University Health System nurses and staff recently set aside time from their busy schedules to showcase their dancing talent in a Pink Glove Dance video. This video is part of the Pink Glove Dance phenomenon that is sweeping the nation in support of breast cancer research.
A student at the Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Health Sciences University is among 47 recipients of the 2012 Carolyn L. Kuckein Student Research Fellowship from the national medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today alerted consumers, health care providers and other users of thermal imaging systems intended to measure human body temperature—also known as telethermographic systems, infrared thermographs, thermal cameras, and "fever cameras"—that improper use of the systems may provide inaccurate temperature readings due to a variety of factors.
Cognition Therapeutics Inc., a drug discovery company developing novel, small molecule disease-modifying treatments for Alzheimer's, has closed on a $2.5 million Series A1 financing it will use to bring one or more of its compounds to Investigational New Drug (IND) candidate status. The round was led by Golden Seeds, one of the nation's largest angel investing groups, and was syndicated with Tech Coast Angels.
Although first responders willingly put themselves in harm's way during disasters, new research indicates that they may not be as willing- if the disaster is a potentially lethal pandemic.
