A team of scientists led by Dr Bhaskar Bhattacharya and Associate Professor Richie Soong from the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore at the National University of Singapore conducted a study on acquired resistance (AQR) to combination drug treatment in cancer and found that the mechanisms of AQR for the combination drugs were different from that of the individual drugs.
The Cardiac & Vascular Institute at NYU Langone Medical Center has established its new LVAD Program. This surgical intervention program offers eligible, advanced heart failure patients implantation of the latest, lifesaving tool - a left ventricular assist device.
Scientists led by Dr. Daniel De Carvalho at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre have discovered a gene signature biomarker that may predict which patients will respond - or not - to immune therapy.
