Humana Inc. and Department of NY Veterans of Foreign Wars have teamed up on the Stop 22 initiative, which aims to increase awareness of 22 veterans committing suicide each day. As part of this partnership, the VFW NY will host the inaugural Stop 22 Walk-A-Thon to heighten awareness of the mental health needs of our country's veterans.
InControl Medical, LLC, a women's health company focusing on female urinary incontinence, has received FDA clearance for their proprietary, patented, InToneMV, providing women who suffer with vaginal atrophy a smaller, more comfortable medical device for the treatment of stress, urge and mixed female urinary incontinence without surgery or drugs.

A new study published in the journal JAMA Network Open on November 13, 2019, says that while more adults joined weight-loss programs in the period 1999 to 2016, the results weren't quite satisfactory. People are heavier today, by about 2.8 Kg, on average, than at the beginning of the study, though about 42% of all people are trying to lose weight by diverse methods including dieting, exercise, cutting down on sweets and drinking more water.
A new pilot study suggests that treating soft-tissue sarcoma with a new regimen of intense chemotherapy and a short course of radiation before surgery may be beneficial. About 41 percent of study participants were found to have complete tumor death at the time of surgery.
