After the Hendra virus outbreak among horses in Queensland, there are new worries that it may have jumped to a dog, the first such infection outside a laboratory. But Queensland authorities have moved to allay any fears of a widespread outbreak among dogs.
Researchers from Sweden say that women who have been treated for cervical precancer should receive lifelong follow-up, after finding that their risk for dying from vaginal or cervical cancer markedly increases after the age of 60 years.
Researchers at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine have identified the motors that move non-infectious prion proteins (PrPC) - found within many mammalian cells - up and down long, neuronal transport pathways.
Ipsen announced today that the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use, the scientific committee of the European Medicines Agency, provided a positive opinion for Cabometyx (cabozantinib) as a monotherapy for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma in adults who have been previously treated with sorafenib.
