Clinical results of a new pediatric vision test, the Enfant™ Pediatric Vision Testing System, show a 97 percent sensitivity in detecting vision deficits in children as young as six months of age, according to a study published in the December 2004 issue (Volume 8, Number 6) of the Journal of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS).
Aggressive ovarian tumors begin as malignant cells kept in check by the immune system until, suddenly and unpredictably, they explode into metastatic cancer. New findings from scientists at The Wistar Institute demonstrate that ovarian tumors don't necessarily break "free" of the immune system, rather dendritic cells of the immune system seem to actively support the tumor's escape.
WaferGen Biosystems, Inc., a leading developer of state-of-the-art genomic analysis systems, today announced that it has received commitments from certain investors to purchase approximately $7 million of previously unissued securities in a registered direct offering.
