Researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics (Germany), VU University Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience (USA) succeed in reconstructing the neuronal networks that interconnect the elementary units of sensory cortex - cortical columns.
A study led by Queen Mary University of London has compared the performance and acceptability of a urine test and four different vaginal self-sampling collection devices to detect high risk Human Papilloma Virus (HPV).
Calixa Therapeutics Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel antibiotics for the treatment of antibiotic-resistant infections, will present pre-clinical and clinical data in 20 posters at the Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC) that is being held in San Francisco on September 12 to 15, 2009.
JDRF announced today another important step on the road to the development of an artificial pancreas - an automated system to better manage the blood sugar of people with type 1 diabetes - with the establishment of a research program to speed the development of faster-acting insulin.
