Effective antiretroviral therapy has changed the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from a progressive, fatal disease to a chronic, manageable condition that is associated with higher rates of heart attacks, strokes, heart failure, sudden cardiac deaths, and other diseases compared to people without HIV, according to a new scientific statement from the American Heart Association published in the Association journal Circulation.
Genomic Health today announced the presentation of 11 studies with the Oncotype DX breast cancer test at the 14th St. Gallen Breast Cancer Conference in Vienna, Austria. Studies presented include results from a real-life observational study in Ireland demonstrating significant reductions in chemotherapy and resulting cost savings when the test is used in early stage breast cancer.
The alignment of state pension ages for women and men - while in some senses a milestone for gender equality - has created very real difficulties for those whose who will now not receive their State Pension when they had originally expected to.
