Lately, some of that buzz has been about how demos might provide part of the solution for Medicare's payment problems.
Morgan Stanley announced today that the Firm will launch "Step Up to the Plate," a global initiative to reduce childhood malnutrition and save lives worldwide. This two-pronged approach is designed to address malnutrition by providing food to children most in need in developed nations, while also addressing the medical effects of children already experiencing malnutrition in the developing world.
Delcath Systems, Inc. today announced that the Company has amended its Investigational New Drug (IND) application and its Expanded Access Program (EAP) to include the use of the second-generation hemofiltration cartridge of the Company's proprietary chemosaturation system.
The Center for Science in the Public Interest was joined today by victims, consumer advocacy, and public health organizations in urging Congress to support the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) efforts to protect consumers from contaminated oysters that each year cause scores of serious illnesses and deaths. The blood infection caused by Vibrio vulnificus bacteria in oysters is one of the most deadly foodborne illnesses, killing half of the people infected. Those who survive can have painful lesions and fluid-filled blisters all over their bodies, sometimes requiring limbs to be amputated. Four methods of post-harvest processing have proven effective at destroying the bacteria without harming the texture or flavor of the oysters.
