New research from the University of Illinois challenges the premise that the brain must build new proteins in response to an experience for that experience to be recorded in long-term memory.
House Democrats are poised to pass sweeping legislation to lower drug prices using strategies President Donald Trump has endorsed. A Trump aide urged the Republican-controlled Senate to vote on a different package curbing drug prices that was drafted by a senior Republican.
The Health Protection Agency has this week issued symptom-based clinical action cards to all GPs in England to help them recognise unusual symptoms. The cards do not reflect any increased threat to the public, but have been developed in response to requests from the medical profession for more specific training in the recognition of unusual symptoms caused by emerging diseases and by chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) hazards.
According to Millennium Research Group, the global authority on medical technology market intelligence, the new reimbursement system from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for end stage renal disease will have a mixed but mostly negative effect on the market for ESRD treatment devices.
