Researchers at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center have discovered that a combination of immune checkpoint blockade and targeted therapies that block normal DNA damage repair achieved significant tumor regression in mouse models of small cell lung cancer, suggesting a promising new approach for treating patients with this aggressive cancer.
The cardiovascular risk that is associated with proteinuria, or high levels of protein in the urine, a common test used by doctors as an indicator of increased risk for progressive kidney disease, heart attack and stroke, has race-dependent effects, according to a new study by researchers at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
Hansen Medical, Inc. will showcase its new Lynx Robotic Ablation Catheter for the first time at Venice Arrhythmias 2009, the 11th International Workshop on Cardiac Arrhythmias, Oct. 4-7, in Venice, Italy. The Lynx catheter is a small, flexible irrigated ablation catheter for customers in Europe to offer stability during the treatment of Atrial Fibrillation (AF).
