A team of Northwestern University researchers has solved the structure of a molecule that controls the ability of viruses of the paramyxovirus family, including the viruses that cause measles, mumps, and many human respiratory diseases, to fuse with and infect human cells.
AmpliPhi Biosciences Corporation, a global leader in the development of bacteriophage-based antibacterial therapies to treat drug-resistant infections, today announced experimental results highlighting that its prototype bacteriophage cocktail demonstrated comparable efficacy to vancomycin in reduction of Staphylococcus aureus in a murine lung infection model.
