Different techniques should be used to remove single stones that have become lodged in the distal ureter after being expelled by the kidney, depending on whether they are under or above one centimetre, according to the December issue of BJUI.
Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine have successfully isolated and cultured human hematopoietic stem cells from fat, or adipose, tissue, suggesting that they have found another important source of cells for reconstituting the bone marrow of patients undergoing intensive radiation therapy for blood cancers.
Sonomax Hearing Healthcare Inc. reports that announcement of the results of the Phase III milestone for its off-the-shelf, self-fitting, custom earpieces, originally scheduled for the end of September 2009, will be delayed by approximately two weeks. Sonomax now expects to announce the Phase III results on or about October 13, 2009.
Huntington's disease is a neurodegenerative disease. It is always fatal. The disease is caused by a defect in the Huntingtin gene. To this day, no therapy will put a stop to the insidious disintegration of brain cells.
