Proponents of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act have a very costly, tax-payer funded national advertising campaign-- posing as "protectors" of Medicare—even as the massively unpopular law cut $500-$800 billion from Medicare to fund expansion of Medicaid, shifting more medical care services to younger voters.
A report published on Wednesday by the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) - titled "U.S. Global Health Policy in Palestinian Hands?" and written by J. Stephen Morrison, senior vice president and director of the Global Health Policy Center at CSIS, and Haim Malka, senior fellow and deputy director of the CSIS Middle East Program - examines the relationship between Palestine's bid for statehood and potential membership in U.N. bodies - including the WHO - and U.S. global health policy, according to the report summary.
For patients diagnosed with breast cancer, determining whether cancer cells have spread to the axillary lymph nodes of the armpit is important for guiding treatment decisions. It has been debated whether axillary ultrasound imaging is equally sensitive for detecting axillary metastatic lymph nodes in different subtypes of breast cancer.
A new study has shown that nitroglycerin ointment, that is used for chest pain or angina can be beneficial in postmenopausal women in improving their bone density. In this group of women, the bone becomes increasingly weak and brittle and leads to easy fractures. The study showed that postmenopausal women who used it for 2 years showed a modest increase in bone mineral density and decrease in bone resorption (loss). The study was published in the February 23 issue of JAMA.
