Seasonal influenza vaccination may guard against stillbirth, a new study published in Clinical Infectious Diseases and available online suggests. Researchers in Western Australia analyzed data from nearly 60,000 births that occurred during the southern hemisphere's 2012 and 2013 seasonal influenza epidemics, and found that women who received the trivalent influenza vaccine during pregnancy were 51 percent less likely to experience a stillbirth than unvaccinated mothers.
Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company developing oral therapies that target the various phases of cell cycle control for the treatment of cancer and other serious disorders, today announced that it received a complaint filed by Celgene Corporation seeking a declaration from the court that four Cyclacel-owned patents, which claim the use of romidepsin injection in T-cell lymphomas, are not infringed by Celgene's products and are invalid.
As the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted many routine medical services and discretionary surgical procedures, little attention has been paid to its impact on clinical research.
Scientists from Tomsk Polytechnic University and National Autonomous Mexico University develop techniques to treat diabetic foot syndrome with special insoles with silver nano-particles. The techniques help to fight ulcers appearing on feet in diabetic patients, facilitates their healing and disinfection, reducing the risk of amputation.
