In a development that could have significant ramifications for the nation's health care system, Baby Boomers may well be entering their 60s suffering far more disabilities than their counterparts did in previous generations, according to a new UCLA study. The findings, researchers say, may be due in part to changing American demographics.
To determine whether healthy food could help low-income people better control their diabetes, a pilot study by UC San Francisco and Feeding America tracked nearly 700 people at food banks in California, Texas and Ohio over two years.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced today that The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) has been awarded $15.3 million to establish a Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center (REC).
Combining intratumoral electroporation of interleukin-12 (IL-12) DNA (tavokinogene telseplasmid, or TAVO) with the immune checkpoint inhibitor pembrolizumab (Keytruda) led to clinical responses in patients with immunologically quiescent advanced melanoma, according to results from a phase II trial.
Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories, Ltd. reports receipt of a proposal from Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. ("Sun") and Sun Pharma Global, Inc ("Sun Global") for a going private transaction by which Sun, Sun Global, and/or one or more of their affiliates would acquire all of the outstanding shares of Caraco common stock not held by Sun or Sun Global for a per share consideration of $4.75 in cash.
