The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research today announced $1.1 million in total funding to six different projects aimed at validating potential therapeutic targets for Parkinson's disease.
The job of implementing a key Obama administration health reform -;a statewide marketplace where consumers and businesses can buy affordable health insurance-;would be turned over to a non-profit company under proposed legislation announced today by Michigan's Republican Gov. Rick Snyder.
Air Techniques, Inc., a leading dental equipment manufacturer, announced today that its Spectra device led the caries detection aid category in dollar sales with a 2010 market share of almost 50%. In addition, in the fourth quarter of 2010, Spectra for the first time also led the category in units sold, and it set a record with a dollar market share of over 60%.

To find out, researchers at the University of California, Riverside performed laboratory experiments on house mice and found that mice that have been bred for dozens of generations to be more exercise-loving have larger midbrains than those that have not been selectively bred this way.
In statement released Thursday, USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah said, "I congratulate the Partners PrEP and CDC TDF2 teams on their study findings demonstrating that PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) - and HIV medication when taken orally, once a day - is highly effective in preventing HIV in heterosexual men and women.
