Federal workers are not likely to see major changes to their health care plans despite adjustments being made in private plans as health reform is implemented, Government Executive reports.
Insurers are saying that offering more narrow networks of which doctors patients can see or hospitals they can go to is vital to keeping costs down in plans offered under the health law. In the meantime, some insurers are offering supplemental plans to fill in these gaps.
According to a report by charity Age UK, spending on social care for the elderly has been cut by around £600m this year. The research was based on 139 council responses under the Freedom of Information Act, and has uncovered an 8.4% cut to elderly care budgets.
These prosthetics are a big change from traditional models. The knees are designed with a programmable computer that is built in to the joint. This battery powered technology continuously controls both the swing and the stance phase of the prosthetic through real time data that the computer receives from its built-in sensors.
