Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, and the American College of Cardiology (ACC) are pleased to announce that the American College of Cardiology (ACC) journals' portfolio has been expanded with the launch of JACC: Heart Failure.
That state's adoption of the nation's strictest abortion ban - after 12 weeks of pregnancy, when a fetal heartbeat is usually found - is spurring advocates to push similar legislation in Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, North Dakota and Wyoming. Legal scholars say such laws have little chance of withstanding federal court scrutiny.
Results observed from pre-specified interim analyses of the randomized, placebo-controlled Phase 3 study, COU-AA-302, demonstrated that patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) treated with abiraterone acetate (ZYTIGA) plus prednisone showed a statistically significant improvement in radiographic progression-free survival (rPFS) and all secondary endpoints compared to patients treated with placebo plus prednisone.
Scientists at the University of Bonn have discovered a previously unknown fruit fly gene that controls the metabolism of fat. Larvae in which this gene is defective lose their entire fat reserves.
