Medical students showed a greater acceptance of using approaches in genomic medicine, a key element in the practice of precision medicine, to treat patients as compared to physicians currently in practice according to a Brief Communication in the journal Medical Science Educator.
Several of the city's most troubled hospitals are partially or completely uninsured for malpractice, state records show, forgoing what is considered a standard safeguard across the country.
In a letter addressed to Dr. Harold E. Varmus, director of the NCI, and Dr. Margaret Hamburg, FDA commissioner, Ms. Norma Erickson, president of S.A.N.E. Vax, Inc., requested that these two federal agencies recommend a reliable human papillomavirus (HPV) genotyping test to support the national virology-based cervical cancer prevention program for patient care. Erickson stated: "The NCI knows reliable HPV genotyping is based on using a PCR system with short target sequencing."
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is working with state health officials from Mississippi and Louisiana to notify consumers, food service operators and retailers nationwide about an outbreak of norovirus associated with oysters recently harvested from an area near Port Sulphur, La. known as Area 7. The oysters were sold or distributed nationwide.
Romosozumab is a bone-forming monoclonal antibody used in women after menopause for the treatment of severe osteoporosis if there is a high risk of bone fractures.
