Navidea Biopharmaceuticals, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on precision diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals, today announced that data from its Phase 3 clinical study investigating 99m-Tc-Tilmanocept in oral and squamous cell cancers (SCC) were presented as a poster presentation at the 65th Annual Cancer Symposium of the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) meeting held in Orlando, Florida, March 21-24, 2012.
By combining two relatively inexpensive technologies based on sound and light waves, researchers hope to lower the rate at which women undergo breast biopsies for suspicious lesions. Results of the study on ultrasound-guided optical tomography are published in the online edition and the August print issue of Radiology.
Lack of financial resources, staff, and commitment from key countries, may hamper WHO's goal to provide life-long antiretroviral therapy to 3 million people with HIV/AIDS in developing countries by the end of 2005 (3 by 5), states an editorial in this week's issue of The Lancet.
For deer mice living in the Nebraska Sandhills, color can literally be the difference between life and death. When they first colonized the region, the dark-coated mice stood out starkly against the light-colored, sandy soil, making them easy prey for predators.
