Since its founding in 2007, the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS) has become the pre-eminent professional society for MIS surgeons. International Stem Cell Corporation, www.internationalstemcell.com, and Insight Bioventures India Private Limited, announced today that they have signed a letter of intent concerning funding and establishment of an Indian affiliate of ISCO. The goal is to establish world-class development and manufacturing operations for ISCO's research and pharmaceutical products in India, including its Lifeline Cell Technology research products and human corneal tissue, CytoCor, for treatment of corneal vision impairment and testing of chemicals.
Researchers at the University of California, Davis, have developed a new web application that allows users to track COVID-19 cases and testing across the globe. The app offers a simple, intuitive way for users to track COVID-19 data at the country, state and county level.
Bowel cancers affect thousands each year in Australia. Around 16,000 new diagnoses are made annually with huge number of people dying from this cancer. To curb the delayed diagnosis of bowel cancer that leads to less successful treatment outcomes, the Department of Health has been providing free, at-home testing kits for people aged between 50 and 75 years since 2006.

Symptoms can be alleviated, in part, by the drug memantine (marketed in the United States as Namenda), which is currently FDA-approved to treat moderate-to-severe Alzheimer's disease and was, in part, developed by Stuart A. Lipton, M.D., Ph.D., Director of the Del E. Web Center for Neuroscience, Aging and Stem Cell Research at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute (Sanford-Burnham).
