Breast cancer researchers from the Florida campus of The Scripps Research Institute have developed a novel approach for identifying how chemicals in the environment—called environmental estrogens—can produce infertility, abnormal reproductive development, including "precocious puberty," and promote breast cancer.

Breathing in secondhand cigarette smoke may leave you more vulnerable to heart failure, a condition where the heart isn't pumping as well as it should and has a hard time meeting the body's needs, according to a study being presented at the American College of Cardiology's 70th Annual Scientific Session.

Sensory intervention cab help ADHD kids

Preliminary findings from a study of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) show that sensory intervention - for example, deep pressure and strenuous exercise - can significantly improve problem behaviors such as restlessness, impulsivity and hyperactivity. Of the children receiving occupational therapy, 95 percent improved. This is the first study of this size on sensory intervention for ADHD.

Controversy over F.D.A.-Avastin decision to reignite June 28-29 with new round of hearings

Controversy over the F.D.A.'s proposal to withdraw approval of Avastin for breast cancer treatment will reignite June 28-29 with a new round of hearings.
