Aruba Networks, Inc., a global leader in distributed enterprise network solutions, today announced that LRGHealthcare (LRGH), a healthcare charitable trust based in New Hampshire, has deployed Aruba's application-aware 802.11n Wi-Fi networks to address growing clinical mobility needs throughout the Lakes Region General Hospital, Franklin Regional Hospital, and associated clinics in the cities of Lanconia, Franklin, Gilford, and Meredith.
A two-year study led by researchers at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) found that healthy, long-term weight loss diets can significantly reverse carotid (main brain artery) atherosclerosis, a direct risk factor for strokes and heart attacks. The study is one of the first to prove the potential of moderate weight loss as a strategy to reverse atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) in overweight and mildly obese people.
Taking blood stem cells collected from an umbilical cord into the lab and expanding their number before transplanting them to replace a patient's blood supply is as safe as a standard cord blood transplant, researchers reported at the 50th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology.
Researchers from the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine presented findings at the "2015 Hurricane Sandy Conference: Translating Research into Practice," showing that strong neighborhood relationships reduced the incidence of symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among older adults exposed to Hurricane Sandy, the superstorm that devastated the Northeast United States.
