Sexual activities other than intercourse carry some risk of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, according to a report from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists published recently in the journal Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reuters reports.
The rapid spread of H5N1 bird flu across Europe and the Middle East in the last month and the re-emergence of the virus in Asia, has further ignited fears that the deadly virus will mutate and cause the pandemic everyone fears.
Amgen today announced positive results from several new analyses of two Phase 3 trials studying denosumab compared with Zometa® (zoledronic acid), the current standard of care, for the treatment of bone metastases in patients with advanced breast cancer ("136 study") and solid tumors or multiple myeloma ("244 study"). Results from these trials reinforce denosumab's consistent ability to delay the complications of bone metastases in patients with advanced cancer. These results are being presented during the 2010 American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting in Chicago.
US Oncology, Inc., the nation's leading integrated oncology company, announced today that three investigators affiliated with US Oncology Research participated in studies that will be presented orally at the 52nd American Society of Hematology Annual Meeting and Exposition at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Dec. 4-7. Five other investigators in the US Oncology Research Network participated in a study that will be displayed as a poster during the conference.
International medical technology company, Sectra, announces an agreement with Mammography Reporting System Inc. (MRS), a leading mammography tracking and reporting system provider, to distribute its solution, MRS7, fully integrated with Sectra Breast Imaging PACS.
