Pepscan Therapeutics, the Netherlands based biotechnology firm focusing on protein mimicry technology for the generation of novel therapeutics, today announced that it has signed a Research and License Agreement with Tibotec Pharmaceuticals, Ireland. Under the agreement Pepscan using its CLIPS technology will work with Tibotec to develop novel therapeutic peptides against an undisclosed target.
Latino adolescents who experience discrimination-related stress are more likely to experience anxiety, depression, and issues with sleep, according to research led by NYU's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. These mental health outcomes were more pronounced among Latino teens born in the U.S. to immigrant parents, as opposed to foreign-born teens.

A review of studies has revealed that taller women have a slightly higher risk of ovarian cancer. Obesity is also a risk factor among women who have never taken HRT, say international researchers. Previous studies have suggested a link, but there has been conflicting evidence.
Pancreatic cancer develops and spreads much more slowly than scientists have thought, according to new research from Johns Hopkins investigators. The finding indicates that there is a potentially broad window for diagnosis and prevention of the disease.
