The Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics' 7th Annual International Symposium (ITMAT) will be held October 16 and 17 at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.
A study showing that diabetic patients who are treated with long-term anti-clotting therapy are less likely to have a heart attack or die more than a year after stenting has been named among the best research papers presented at the 30th Annual Scientific Sessions of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI).
The California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) have announced the establishment of the Joint Center for Translational Medicine (JCTM), which will advance experimental research into clinical applications, including the diagnosis and therapy of diseases such as cancer.
The Obama administration can expect tough questioning from the three appeals judges chosen Wednesday to hear the multi-state challenge to the health care reform law. Unlike the three Democratic appointees who heard the first appeals arguments in Richmond earlier this month, the 11th Circuit panel includes judges appointed by presidents of both parties. The Atlanta-based court is slated to hear appeal arguments June 8.
