Small Bone Innovations, an orthopedics company focused exclusively on serving patients and their physicians with technologies and treatments for joint repair and trauma reconstruction around the small bones & joints of the thumb, fingers, hand, wrist, elbow, toes and foot & ankle announced that it has received 510(k) pre-market clearance notification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the radial Head Extended Stem to be used in the correction of complex elbow instabilities and/or elbow reconstruction.
An analysis of medical-surgical sales through distribution conducted by GHX has found that among the top 100 U.S. medical-surgical manufacturers by dollar spend, those that use GHX Market Intelligence data grew medical-surgical revenue through distribution by an average of 6.42 percent in 2009, while non-users grew similarly classified revenue by an average of only 3.88 percent. Furthermore, GHX's analysis also found that those manufacturers employing more granular-level market data from GHX increased revenue at a faster rate than those using higher-level data.
The National Council on Disability (NCD) today released a report entitled The Current State of Health Care for People with Disabilities, calling for immediate health care reform for people with disabilities.
Siemens Healthcare has launched a range of new MR applications to help hospitals reduce the time needed for MR imaging within neurology. It is estimated that 20 to 25 per cent of all MR examinations are neurological, with the number expected to grow in 2016.
