For the eighth consecutive time, Rush University Medical Center has received an "A" for patient safety in a nationwide evaluation of hospitals by the Leapfrog Group. Rush has received an A, the top grade possible, each time the Leapfrog Group has rated hospitals since launching the organization's Hospital Safety Score in June 2012.
Older patients hospitalized with acute heart failure who participated in a novel 12-week physical rehabilitation (rehab) program tailored to address their specific physical impairments had significant gains not only in physical functioning but also quality of life and depression compared with those receiving usual care, regardless of their heart's ejection fraction, according to a new study presented at the American College of Cardiology's 70th Annual Scientific Session.
It is a well-known fact that fluoride is good for the teeth. Two researchers at Uppsala University show in a working paper from IFAU that a higher level of fluoride in the drinking water does not lead to lower intelligence.
