Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that a trial date has been set for patent litigation in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware against Teva Parenteral Medicines, Inc. (TPM), Teva Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc. and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. alleging infringement of Cubist's US Patent Nos. 6,468,967 and 6,852,689, which expire on September 24, 2019, and US Patent No. RE39,071, which expires on June 15, 2016.
Researchers from Canada and the United States today told attendees of the Experimental Biology 2011 Scientific Meeting that they have uncovered a possible means of enabling women to favorably influence whether the estrogens in their bodies take a "beneficial path" or a "disease-potential" path.
Scientists have identified a channel present in many pain detecting sensory neurons that acts as a 'brake', limiting spontaneous pain. It is hoped that the new research, published today [22 January] in the Journal of Neuroscience, will ultimately contribute to new pain relief treatments.
Principle Investigator HARUNO Masahiko and Dr. MORI Kazuma at the Center for Information and Neural Networks, the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT, President: TOKUDA Hideyuki, Ph.D.), report the use of machine learning to analyze behavior on Twitter and predict a wide range of personality traits and attributes such as intelligence and extraversion.
