Multiple sclerosis (MS) may be triggered by the death of brain cells that make myelin, the insulation around nerve fibers, according to research on a novel mouse model developed by scientists from the University of Chicago and Northwestern Medicine. Fears of a link between testosterone replacement therapy and cardiovascular risk are misplaced, according to a review published in this month's Mayo Clinic Proceedings. The therapy has come under widespread scrutiny in recent months, including by a federal Food and Drug Administration panel convened last fall.
In this study, the researchers observed a significant effect of time of vaccination on the vaccine-induced SARS-CoV-2 immunity, which was estimated by measuring the anti-Spike antibody levels.
While often used interchangeably, dementia and Alzheimer's disease are not the same. Dementia is a general term for a decline in mental ability severe enough to interfere with daily life.
