Biophor Diagnostics, Inc. announces that it has received FDA 510(k) clearance for sale and distribution of its seventh oral fluid screening assay based on the RapidFRET IVD Platform technology. This clearance completes the company's flagship panel for drugs of abuse screening in oral fluid.
Less than every fourth child in Europe have enough fruit and vegetables included in their daily diet, a study by Swedish researchers at örebro University and Karolinska Institutet shows. The findings are a part of an EU-funded study and are presented in Public Health Nutrition today.
Certain Streptococci increase their production of toxic shock syndrome toxin 1, sometimes to potentially dangerous levels, when aerobic bacteria are present in the vagina. But scientists from the University of Western Ontario have discovered certain strains of lactobacillus bacteria are capable of dampening production of that toxin according to research published in the journal Applied and Environmental Microbiology.
A federal appeals court backed the Obama administration's drive to levy greater punishments on pharmaceutical executives tied to corporate wrongdoing, saying the administration could effectively derail the executives' careers by barring them from doing business with federal programs including Medicare.
