Adimab, LLC, a technology leader in the discovery of fully human antibodies, today announced the initiation of two independent collaborations with Biogen Idec and Novo Nordisk. Over the past two years, Adimab has established collaborations with multiple leading pharmaceutical companies, including: Merck, Roche, Novartis, Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Genentech, Human Genome Sciences, and now Biogen Idec and Novo Nordisk.
USA Today on Wednesday, as part of an ongoing series about retirement issues in the 21st century, examined how many of the 1.6 million baby boomers at age 62 who will become eligible for Social Security this year "have postponed plans to retire" because of health care costs and other economic concerns.
The researchers from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business recently conducted an experiment involving 205 people in Wurtzburg, Germany to analyze the addictive properties of social media and other vices.
Not only the acquired immune system but also the innate immune system has a memory. And the BCG vaccine against tuberculosis can stimulate this memory. After a BCG vaccination the innate immune system responds better to a wide range of other infections. Mihai Netea and colleagues from Radboud university medical center discovered and described how that works. They think that the old vaccine could be useful for specific target groups, such as the elderly.
