Tarsa Therapeutics, Inc. today announced that it has secured a $10 million senior credit facility from Oxford Finance LLC and Square 1 Bank. The company intends to use the proceeds to support its plans to file a New Drug Application (NDA) with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its Ostora tablet for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis, currently targeted for early 2015.
Dr. Akhilesh K. Gaharwar, associate professor, has developed a highly printable bioink as a platform to generate anatomical-scale functional tissues. This study was recently published in the American Chemical Society's Applied Materials and Interfaces.
Fluorescence imaging is widely used for visualizing biological tissues such as the back of the eye, where signs of macular degeneration can be detected. It is also commonly used to image blood vessels during reconstructive surgery, allowing surgeons to make sure the vessels are properly connected.
