The Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute is accepting nominations for the 2014 Eliot Corday, MD, International Prize in Heart Research, which annually honors a physician or scientist conducting groundbreaking research or individuals who significantly advance the practice of heart medicine.
Sugars are needed to provide us with energy and in moderate amounts contribute to our well-being. Sustained high levels of sugars, as is found in diabetics, damages our cells and now is shown that can also increase our chance to get cancer: The dose makes the poison as Paracelsus said.
"The governments of the United States, India, and Ethiopia will in collaboration with UNICEF convene the Child Survival Call to Action in Washington, D.C.," a two-day event beginning Thursday, which "brings together 700 leaders and global experts to launch a sustained effort to save children's lives," a UNICEF press release reports.
