Even people who just got health insurance use the emergency departments to access their care, according to a new study by University of Colorado School of Medicine researchers. It's not just people who lost insurance or people living long without it, the researchers note - any change in health insurance status, whether positive or negative, tends to send people to the ER because they don't know where else to go.
Aeterna Zentaris Inc. today announced that Phase 1 trial results for the Company's oral anticancer compound, perifosine, in multiple myeloma, have been published in the online May 2012 issue of the British Journal of Haematology.
Adding either tomosynthesis (a form of 3D mammography) or ultrasound scans to standard mammograms can detect breast cancers that would have been missed in women with dense breasts, according to an interim analysis of a trial comparing these two additional screening technologies.
Researchers at the Duke Cancer Institute who have been studying prostate cancer cells for decades now think they know why PSA levels reflect cancer progression.
