Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) welcomed the move by the U.S. Supreme Court, January 24, to extend an injunction granted by Justice Sonia Sotomayor, December 31, exempting the Little Sisters of the Poor and others in their lawsuit from the Department of Health and Human Services' contraception mandate while their appeal is pending.
Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that the underwriters of its February 2, 2010 initial public offering (IPO) have exercised their over-allotment option in full on an additional 2.5 million shares of Ironwood's Class A common stock. With the completion of the IPO and the exercise of the over-allotment option, Ironwood has approximately 97.4 million shares of common stock outstanding (approximately 19.2 million shares of Class A common stock and 78.2 million shares of Class B common stock).

The data was published in the June 2010 issue of the International Journal of Neuroscience.
The National Center for Research Resources (NCRR), a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), announced today it will provide up to an estimated $11 million over the next five years to create two new Biomedical Technology Research Centers (BTRCs) that will provide researchers nationwide with access to specialized research tools, training and state-of-the-art equipment.
The MitoCanada Foundation has announced a national research venture focused on improving the early detection and treatment of mitochondrial disease in Canada.
