Humana has served nutritious meals to more than 81,000 Humana Medicare Advantage members in 120 cities after a hospital or nursing facility stay since the company's meal-delivery program began in 2006. Yesterday, Well Dine delivered the Humana program's one millionth meal to Humana Medicare Advantage member Sylvia van Dyke, 61, of Knoxville.
While Americans remain divided over the new health reform law, "they aren't clamoring for its repeal. … Instead, the public seems willing to listen to candidates who would give the overhaul a chance and fix or improve it as needed. That's the signal from some surveys and a congressional race in a bellwether Pennsylvania district."
As Gov. Andrew Cuomo and lawmakers lurch toward a budget deal, the state's largest health-care union is asking Albany for another bailout of its troubled insurance fund. The union, 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, is asking the state for $80 million more in Medicaid dollars so it can keep on providing health insurance to personal-care aides.
