The Alliance for Balanced Pain Management today launched a new educational tool – "Are You the Only One Taking Your Medicine?" – that consumers and health care providers can use to assess whether a home is at risk for medication misuse, abuse or diversion.
Smoking, head injury, pesticide exposure, farming and less education may be risk factors for a rare sleep disorder that causes people to kick or punch during sleep, according to a study published in the June 27, 2012, online issue of Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
New modelling research presented at the Health Protection Agency's annual conference will show that up to 70% of cases of cervical cancer and 95% of cases of genital warts in men and women could be prevented by the introduction of human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination into the UK 's national immunisation programme. This is in addition to the cancer cases already prevented by the NHS cervical screening programme.
More than 50 mental health clinicians and 14 Head Start teachers are increasing their ability to help young children experiencing social and emotional difficulties, thanks to training provided through the South Dakota Early Childhood Mental Health Collaborative.
