Kinetic Concepts, Inc. today announced it is the first manufacturer to commit to submitting labeling for its products used in the home to the Food and Drug Administration as part of the agency's medical device Home Use Initiative. KCI will voluntarily submit labeling for its products cleared by FDA for home use for inclusion in the home use device labeling repository on the FDA's website.
ELC GROUP, the pan-European pharmaceutical regulatory affairs organisation, today announces that it has formed a preferred European partner relationship with mdi Europa GmbH, a global regulatory consultancy for medical device and IVD companies.
The government of Sweden is partnering with psychologists at SMU to launch a parenting program shown to reduce child abuse. A two-year study funded by the Swedish government will look at the feasibility of implementing the program nationwide in that country.
A new study at the University of Leicester is probing why asthma relief inhalers might actually make asthma worse- and what can be done about it.
"Hepatitis B virus infection causes infant fulminant hepatitis, and chronic HBV infection may progress to chronic liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma. Taiwan launched a nationwide HBV immunization program for newborns in July 1984, which has successfully lowered the prevalence of chronic HBV carriers, incidence of HCC, and mortality of IFH in vaccinated birth cohorts. The mortality of CLD before and after HBV immunization has never been examined," write Chun-Ju Chiang, Ph.D., of National Taiwan University, Taipei, and colleagues.
